 Introduction & Personal Response:

All competitors aged 4 or over will introduce themselves with their name, age and an interesting fact about themselves for to the judges. They then answer an interview question with a prepared response. The list of interview questions is in the pageant handbook. All competitors aged 3 or younger will be accompanied by a helper who may answer on their behalf. The prepared responses may be in relation to the pageant itself, the child or an opinion on social matters. Public speaking is an important part of pageantry and gives everybody a chance to engage with each other on the day. This is the first part of the day and is where the judges will make their first impression of everyone competing.

All contestants will wear a black Twinkle Toes Pageant t-shirt and matching hair accessory that is available for purchase. They must wear either gold, yellow, black and or white matching attire with their t-shirt. This is a chance to show the judges your own unique style and personality.

Formal Beauty Wear:

This needs to be technical and precise. All competitors are instructed to walk the stage marking all of the x's marked. Your pageant handbook will instruct you on how to do a Twinkle Toes Beauty Routine. Things to consider for your beauty routine are modelling, poise, elegance, grace, presentation, facial beauty, technique, eye contact, attire and hair and make up elements.

All girls age 8 years or younger must wear a cupcake dress, white shoes and white socks. Age appropriateness applies to hair and make up but remember this is a FULL glitz pageant. Cupcake dresses are available at specialty retailers in Australia, overseas and online. Please find links to some local pageantry attire and accessory shops on the helpful information page.

All girls aged 9-12 years may choose to wear either of the options - taking into consideration what goes along with each. Expectation for these girls is as above - age appropriateness still applies but remembering this is a FULL glitz pageant. Follow the links on the helpful information page in regards to attire, accessories, hair and beauty.

All girls 13 years or older must wear a long formal gown, with high heels. Expectation for the older girls is professional hair and make up, appropriate jewellery, tanning, and perfect nails. Please find links to some local hair and beauty experts on the helpful information page.

All boys will wear a suit or tuxedo with matching tie or bow. They may wear a hat if they like.

 Glitz Theme Wear:

Twinkle Toes Pageants offers a different theme for each of it's pageants. Theme wear covers a routine that has a specific tone to it. The use of the theme should come out in the costume and/or music. For glitz pageants props may be necessary to accurately represent the pageant theme. It can be a fun routine and can be more of a pro am routine which differs a little from traditional modelling. For natural pageants, it is usually a colour scheme or seasonal attire for the theme. No props are necessary and although it can be off the rack, this can also be custom made - but still should not be a costume. Your coach should be able to help with theme ideas. Twinkle Toes judges love extravagant and out of the box theme ideas.

The next Twinkle Toes Pageant is a theme only pageant. There are 2 theme routines that need to be performed so this gives the contestants a huge range of choice in their theme wear as it can be anything.

Your theme wear should be age appropriate, can have props, and should be obvious to the judges.

If you are unsure on whether your theme idea is appropriate, please contact the pageant director for guidance.

 Glitz Cover Shot:

Twinkle Toes Pageants makes it compulsory for all contestants to enter the glitz covershot section in their age division, if entering a glitz pageant. This will go towards your overall supreme scores.

A glitz photo is a mandatory requirement for all glitz entrants. This is a retouched portrait type shot that has been digitally enhanced to create a "porcelain doll" look. Please see the helpful information page for some links to websites who will "glitz up" your photo.

Diva Wear:

Diva wear is your last chance to show off to the judges. This is an anything goes modelling section. It can be a fashionable casual wear, an outfit of choice, a formal or cocktail dress, a theme wear or swimwear, or anything else you can think of.

Diva modelling can be anything from a sassy routine, formal routine, pro am routine or a runway walk. You can wear anything from off the rack fashions to a full themed costume.

If you are unsure of what to do or wear for diva, please contact the pageant director for guidance.

 Natural Party Wear:

This is the first runway section of the natural pageants. This is anything that would be deemed suitable to wear to a party. It may be formal, a cocktail dress, a simple party dress, a skirt or pants with a top, an all-in-one or any other fashionable party outfit you like - but it must be OFF THE RACK.

Party Wear is a runway modelling section, with poses, and a catwalk routine - no pro am moves. Make sure you mark all the x's and walk the runway as well as include at least 1 turn in your routine.

If you are unsure of what to wear or do for Party Wear, please contact the pageant director for guidance

Natural Denim Wear:

This is the second runway section of the natural pageants. This is anything denim. It may be jeans, a dress, shorts, a skirt, a shirt, a jacket, an accessory or an all-in-one or any other denim outfit you like. It may be any colour or pattern - but it must be OFF THE RACK.

Denim Wear is a runway modelling section, with poses, and a catwalk routine but can be a little bit more up beat and may contain minimal theatrical or pro am moves. Make sure you mark all the x's and walk the runway as well as include at least 1 turn in your routine.

If you are unsure of what to wear or do for Denim Wear, please contact the pageant director for guidance

 Natural Theme Wear:

This is the last runway section of the natural pageants. This is anything that appropriately fits the theme of the pageant, which is usually a colour or a seasonal outfit (eg Pretty In Pink or Winter Wear). It may be a custom made outfit but should not be too over the top.

Natural Theme Wear is a runway modelling section, with poses, and a catwalk routine but can be more up beat and may contain theatrical or pro am moves if you wish. Make sure you mark all the x's and walk the runway as well as include at least 1 turn in your routine.

If you are unsure of what to wear or do for your Natural Theme Wear, please contact the pageant director for guidance

 Photogenic Portfolio:

Twinkle Toes Pageants offers photogenic sections for all contestants to enter in all pageants. This is a set of 5 photos including 1 x headshot, 1 x black & white and 1 x snapshot.

If it is a natural portfolio, it must NOT include a glitz or theme photo. Photos may be digitally refined (red eye removal, cropped, back ground change, blemish removal etc) but must be still a natural photo of the entrant with no added layers of enhancement (ie - eye change, teeth whitening, make up additions ect)

If it is a theme portfolio, it must accompany the pageant theme in a way you see appropriate. Photoshopping is allowed to theme the pictures. There is no restriction on theme photos.

For information on a photographer or photographic services, please contact the pageant director.
